STORY |
This story begins with a very large family living in Belfort, France in the 1800's. Members of the family are
documented in 3 separate censuses -
an 1836 census,
an 1851 census,
and an 1856 census.

- married Esther Deutschlam {FG}

- b. 1848 - Adeline Levy {FG}

Note that the 1856 census lists Esther Levy as a widow, taking care of 10 children in the household at the time(!)
There was also a Eugene A. Levy, born in 1831, noted to be a brother of L.F. Levy and uncle to
Marcelle Strauss/Frank/Grunsfeld in various newspaper articles.
Many of the children listed above ended up in the United States, entering through New Orleans. Some are buried in New Orleans cemeteries...
